At 2:45 am, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle accident on Byron Highway near Mountain House.
The accident reportedly took out a pole with wires across the roadway. At 5:45 am, PG&E announced that the damage would take 8-hours to fix.
CHP says a hard closure will occur at Byron Highway at Herdley and drivers are being diverted and advised to take other routes.
No details have yet been provided on the accident.
