The Walnut Creek Police Department announced Sunday that three people were arrested in connection with an organized retail theft at Broadway Plaza Nordstrom in the City of Walnut Creek Saturday night.
Police are investigation what they are calling a “planned event” with initial calls coming into the police department about cars driving reckless in the area shortly before 9:00 pm. Norstom employees began calling 9-1-1 when approximately 80-people entered the store and immediately began stealing merchandise.
Two employees were assaulted and one was pepper sprayed by the suspects. Officers arrived on scene quickly, stopping one of the cars and arresting two people, one of them was in possession of a firearm. Another person was arrested nearby a short time later in possession of stolen Nordstrom property.
Arrested:
- Dana Dawson, 30 of San Francisco (gun charges)
- Joshua Underwood, 32 of San Francisco
- Rodney Robinson, 18 of Oakland
The remaining participants in this criminal mob fled from the area in cars at high speeds according to police.

This is why it makes more sense to buy online. You don’t have to worry about being stampeded by monkeys snatching up everything in sight. The price of online merchandise does not include the cost of security and the online retailer doesn’t have to make up for losses from criminal activity.
