Suisun City Mayor Lori D. Wilson Launches Race for State Assembly

by ECT

Fairfield, CA – Suisun Mayor Lori D. Wilson entered the race for the now open Assembly seat held by longtime Assemblymember Jim Frazier. Frazier also announced his support for Mayor Wilson to succeed him as the next Assemblymember for the 11th District seat he has represented since 2012.

“Mayor Lori Wilson is far and away the best candidate to take over representing the people of the 11th Assembly District,” Frazier said in a statement. “She has my full and unqualified support. I am confident that she has all the skills to keep driving the district forward with her exceptional experience, smart leadership instincts and unmatched financial background. Mayor Wilson is a public servant we can all depend on and I’m honored to support her for the district I’ve passionately served for almost a decade.”

Mayor Wilson has a track record of fiscal responsibility while leading efforts to bring more housing, jobs and diversity to Suisun City. As Mayor of Suisun City, Wilson attracted new businesses that created quality jobs, helping dramatically reduce the city’s unemployment rate – keeping it lower than the state average. She worked tirelessly to ensure that her constituents have access to healthcare and worked closely with Suisun City Fire Department (SCFD) in coordination with Solano County Public Health and Office of Emergency Services to bring free COVID-19 testing to Suisun City.

Wilson has also been committed to ending homelessness and her efforts include partnering with the Community Action Partnership of Solano to house the homeless to prevent exposure to COVID. Additionally, during a devastating fire season, Wilson helped set up a community center and sports complex to house those fleeing from the LNU Lightning Complex fires.

Wilson’s day job as a Director of Finance has given her the tools to tackle fiscal policies head on and build a strong economy for her community. Most recently, Wilson worked for a national homebuilder for 8 years and previously held roles as the Chief Accountant at Fair Housing Napa Valley and an Auditor of Solano County.
