East Bay Park District Seeks Help Recovering Stolen Dog

by ECT

The East Bay Regional Park District is asking the public for help in locating a stolen dog after a vehicle burglary occurred.

On 11/30/2021, a vehicle burglary occurred at Anthony Chabot Regional Park in Oakland. The victim’s elderly Red Mini Dachshund, “Ellie” (pictured), was stolen from the victim’s vehicle. The victim recalled seeing a suspicious white Audi SUV in the area before the burglary.

Shortly after the vehicle burglary, an EBRPD pickup was stolen nearby. A park ranger witnessed two young black male adults associated to a white Audi SUV steal the EBRPD truck. The stolen EBRPD pickup was recovered a short distance away later that night. Video footage from neighborhood cameras captured the included images of the suspects and suspect vehicle. The Audi had a black/yellow California license plate of D321Z1 on it, roof rack bars on top of the vehicle, and a spare tire on the rear driver’s side. The vehicle is believed to be a 2019-2022 Audi Q3.

Be aware the plate on the vehicle may have been switched to other plates since these photos were taken.

If you see the Audi or Ellie (the stolen dog), please contact EBRPD Detective Haro at [email protected].
