Some Races too Close to Call in Contra Costa County

by ECT

Contra Costa County released initial unofficial election results just 2:22 pm Wednesday. According to the latest data, Contra Costa County Elections has tallied 387,479 countywide and turnout is sitting at 55.20% countywide. There are approximately 6,800 ballots countywide remaining to be counted.

The big surprise was in Antioch City Council District 1 Race where Tamisha Torres-Walker had been in last place in each of the first two election result drops, but now has a 2-vote lead in the race over Joy Motts – this looks like it could be headed to a recount or a forensic audit given the ballot harvesting that occurred in Antioch.

Brianne Zorn appears to be headed to victory in the mayors race in the City of Martinez. She leads Sean Trambly by 192 votes.  Also in Martinez, Debbie McKillop is holding a slim lead over Ben Therriault by just 26 votes.

In the City of Richmond, another tight race is the District 2 council seat which Andrew Butt holds a 16 vote lead over Cesar Zepeda.

In the Town of Discovery Bay, it appears Ashley Porter, Bryon Gutlow and Kevin Graves will each be elected. Although Porter has a big lead, it should be noted Gutlow and Graves have the same amount of votes at 3,230.

Note – these are partial results, check back on eastcountytoday.net for full results later in the evening.

Great to see our Antioch District 1 convicted felon hasn’t lost her felonious skills.
