At 3:24 pm Friday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of an overturned vehicle crash in the eastbound direction of Highway 4 in Martinez.
Upon arrival, units located a patient who was trapped in a vehicle suffering from injuries and they were working to apply a tourniquet.
According to CHP, a SIGALERT was issued as 3-lanes are blocked.
By 3:40 pm, CONFIRE had all lanes of eastbound Highway 4 shut down. By 3:42, CONFIRE stated extrication was complete and a patient was being transported by AMR to a local hospital.
