SACRAMENTO – Three days after the worst mass shooting in American history, the Assembly Public Safety Committee Tuesday approved a bill by Sen. Loni Hancock to prohibit the possession of any ammunition-holding device for an assault-style weapon that holds more than 10 rounds – known as “high-capacity magazines.”
“Unfortunately, as of early Sunday morning, we must now add another 49 people killed to the growing list of victims of gun violence,” Hancock, D-Oakland, said before the vote. “In a 9-second video that was posted online, you can clearly hear at least 22 rounds being fired in rapid succession from inside the building. If the shooter had to stop to reload, he might have been stopped and lives would have been saved.”
Some of California’s largest cities, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Oakland, have already acted and voted to ban high-capacity magazines. These local ordinances have all been upheld by the courts and the Senate appropriations committee found that this bill would have little to no financial impact on the state.
A recent PPIC survey found that 57 percent of Californians are concerned about the threat of a mass shooting in their area “By banning these weapons statewide, we would be taking a step toward preventing future mass shootings and ensuring that our constituents live in safe neighborhoods,” Hancock said.
SB 1446 was one of several gun-safety measures voted on by the committee.

Already approved by the Senate, SB 1446 now faces review by the Assembly Committee on Appropriations. No hearing date has yet been set.

I just about had to vomit watching that video of the diarrhea flow from the mouths of those dumb asses. They make it obvious to why the Democrat logo is a Jack Ass, the dumbest most stubborn animals on earth. They talk about how much safer it would be if only 10 people were shot instead of 20 or 30. I would feel much safer if radical Muslim assholes weren’t shooting at all, and much safer if myself or my law abiding neighbor was shooting back with all the bullets these whack jobs deserve to get hit by.
How about this you liberal idiots, pass some laws that will actually work! Let’s try to make sense out of their Bull Shit! I could be a felon if I posses any magazines that hold more than 10 rounds along with the rest of law abiding citizens in California but, I can go around breaking into private properties and steal up to $950.00 of someone else’s stuff and don’t have to worry about getting arrested or going to jail. Apologies for the bad language, I let the frustration get the best of me. The more Obama and his administration lie to the public as the obvious came out yesterday with the director of the CIA, he is becoming more apparent as the inside co-operative for Islam and there intent to rid the world of infidels. He has proven to be incompetent in his position and should be impeached. Leaders of nations do not disarm themselves cut back military and open doors to terrorist enemies.
