Shepherd’s Gate: 10th Anniversary Sunset Celebration to Dawn New Awareness and Support

by ECT

To celebrate 10 years serving Brentwood and surrounding communities, Shepherd’s Gate, providing comprehensive care for women and children fleeing domestic violence and homelessness, will host it’s first ever Sunset Celebration on Thursday, June 23. From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. the event will feature inspiring testimonies from Shepherd’s Gate graduates, catering by Brentwood Fine Meats, a raffle and campus tours.

“We are exited to show our supporters a fun and meaningful night!” said Stephanie Fischer, Shepherd’s Gate Development Officer and Master of Ceremonies for the evening.  “In addition to being a memorable event, nights like this help us raise awareness and funds to support women and children who need our help.”

Tickets are still available at www.shepherdsgate.org/celebrate. “Come join us for a night of celebration so more women and children fleeing domestic violence can get their lives back,” said Fischer. If you are unable to attend, but would still like to give, you can do so at https://www.shepherdsgate.org/Celebration-Donation.

Current Shepherd’s Gate residents will be on hand to welcome attendees. Prizes will be awarded to local businesses that collected toilet paper, paper towels, toothbrushes and more during the Shepherd’s Gate Donation Drive in May.

About Shepherd’s Gate

Shepherd’s Gate first opened its doors in 1984 as a small home on Portola Avenue in Livermore. It has since expanded to two campuses, in Livermore and Brentwood, providing rehabilitative care to women fleeing abuse and homelessness. Shepherd’s Gate is not a shelter; it is a proven solution that effectively breaks the cycle of poverty, addiction, domestic violence and homelessness. Since its inception over 11,000 women and children have benefited from the care Shepherd’s Gate provides and 89% of program graduates do not return to the life that they left behind.
