Rep Mark DeSaulnier

Walnut Creek, CA – Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) announced that he and Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-13) will host a virtual Conversation on Race town hall on the fight to address Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) hate in America on Friday, May 28th at 3:00 p.m. (PT).

Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27), will be a special guest. The event will feature a video message from Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06).

Last week, Congress passed and President Biden signed into law the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act to better identify and address anti-Asian hate.

This event is the latest in the Conversation on Race series created by Representatives DeSaulnier and Lee to facilitate more understanding, healing, and progress to help us move forward as a nation. It is Congressman DeSaulnier’s 133rd town hall and mobile district office hour since coming to Congress.
