Pleasant Hill: Suspect Taken into Custody After 3-Hour Standoff

by ECT

On Tuesday morning at 2:057 am, a U-Haul rental truck driven recklessly by Francisco Lima collided with an unoccupied Walnut Creek Police Department patrol vehicle as it was parked on the 1800 block of Lacassie Ave.

A nearby officer on foot had to quickly move away from the patrol vehicle to avoid being struck by the rental truck. WCPD officers pursued the truck as it drove recklessly north to the 2300 block of Buskirk Avenue in Pleasant Hill.

An approximately three hour standoff ensued in which Lima remained inside the U-Haul truck and did not obey officers’ commands. Ultimately at 8:06 am, Lima exited his vehicle and WCPD and Pleasant Hill PD officers took him into custody without issue.

Lima was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility where he was booked on the above charges.

CRIME DESCRIPTION / CODE:
