PG&E to Upgrade Gas Main and Service Lines in Bay Point

Bay Point, CA – Contra Costa County Public Works Department has issued a permit to Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) to allow them to replace gas mains and service lines with upgraded pipes in Bay Point.

There are no plans for this work to interrupt gas service. Work will begin in early January 2022 and continue through July 2022, barring unforeseen circumstances. Work will occur between 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting. Work will not be done on federally observed holidays.

Work will take place on the following streets in Bay Point:

  • Virgil Street
  • Clifford Court
  • Lisa Ann Street
  • Weldon Street
  • Lynbrook Street
  • Connie Court
  • Virgil Court

The purpose of this work is for PG&E to upgrade gas mains, benefitting more than 100 local customers with a safer and more resilient system. Residents can expect pavement saw cutting, trenching, staging of equipment and materials. Some dust and noise can also be expected during the hours of construction. There will be impacts to through traffic and loss of some street parking. Residents will still have access to their homes/driveways.

There will be traffic control throughout the work area so drivers should expect delays. “No Parking” signs will be posted 72 hours in advance of work. Final paving will follow several months after pipeline installation.
