The California Highway Patrol is reporting that at approximately 9:00 pm Thursday, officers responded to a solo vehicle crash on westbound SR-24 near St. Stephens Drive in Orinda.
CHP reports upon arrival, they located a Honda Civic which had collided into a tree off of the right shoulder. The Honda was fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival and after the fire was extinguished a deceased adult female was located in the car.
This is still an ongoing investigation and CHP is are asking that anyone who may have witnessed this collision please contact the Contra Costa CHP office at 925-646-4980.
