Here is a look at the events going on Oct. 7 in East Contra Costa County:

8:00 am: Brentwood Farmers Market
The 2017 season will run every Saturday through November 18  located at First Street between Oak and Chestnut.


9:00 am: Pittsburg Farmers Market
Join the Pittsburg Farmers Market Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm between May 6 through October 21 located at Railroad Ave between 5th and 6th Streets.


10:00am: Antioch Rivertown Jamboree – Jammin on the Delta
On October 7-8, the Antioch Rivertown Jamboree presents Jammin on the Delta Boat Show and racing featuring the 2017 Thunder Cats.

The two day event will take place at the Antioch Marina at 5 Marina Plaza in the City of Antioch. It will feature a boat show, boat races, live entertainment and a kids zone.

10:00 am – Bethel Island Health & Safety Fair
A health and safety fair will be held between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Scout Hall and Community Park on Bethel Island which includes a variety of services from Contra Costa County. Services include but not limited to: fraud & scam education, eye health screening, senior health, mental health, CALWORKS-CALFRESH, Transportation Assistance, Veterans services, Fire Safety, CPR training, Boating safety,animal licenses, vaccination vouchers.

10:30 am: Antioch Soroptimist Host Fallfest Boutique
Join the Antioch Soroptimist at the Antioch VFW (815 Fulton Shipyard) as they will have many vendors and crafts people selling original items such as homemade jams, jewelry, soaps, Tupperware, Scentsy, Mary Kay, Avon, and many more! Great raffles and the proceeds go to helping women and girls in our community.


2:00 pm: El Campanil Hosts Contra Costa Orchestra
In music, an Overture is an orchestral composition that forms the prelude or introduction to an opera, oratorio or musical, and CCCO’s program, Making Overtures is, literally, a prelude to our new season. The program showcases overtures in a wide variety of musical styles and spanning the centuries,  from late 18th century works by Gluck and Mozart, to early 19th century works by Beethoven, Rossini and Schubert, and works from the mid-late 1800’s  by Glinka and Offenbach, to a modern overture by young Spanish film composer Oscar Navarro.

4:00 pm: Streets of Brentwood Host The Stroll Fundraiser Event
On October 7, the Streets of Brentwood will be hosting The Stroll, the second annual festival produced by Parents and Providers Partnering for the Education of Young Children (PPEYC) to raise $60,000 to provide children of low to moderate income families in the East Contra Costa County.

PPEYC assists homeless and destitute families find food, shelter, and clothing while assisting them with many other challenges.

Entertainment at the event will include PaintNite ($45), dancing, Bunco and live entertainment including:

  • 4:00 – 5:30 pm – Hot for Teacher (Van Halen Tribute Band)
  • 6:00 – 7:30 pm – The Floorshakers (Funk, Soul and Rock n’ Roll)
  • 8:00 – 10:00 pm – First Avenue Revue (Prince Tribute Band)

There will also be vendors, food trucks, along with wine and beer available for purchase. Raffles and silent auctions will also be available.

There is no entrance fee for the event; however, tokens will need to be purchased to participate in the activities.


6:00 pm: Campos Family Vineyards Host ForeJour
This is the LAST concert this season in our Summerfest in the Vines Tribute Band Concert Series!! This is a Foreigner and Journey Tribute Band!

This is an open lawn seating event. Bring a low back lawn chair and enjoy the beautiful grounds while you rock out to ForeJour!

Food Trucks attending this concert are:

  • Flavors of Cali
  • Tacos el Asador
  • Soleil Wood Fire Pizza
  • Gotta Love Kettle Korn
  • Kiane’s Shaved Ice
  • We will have 6 beers on Tap and your favorite wines available for purchase!

Small Coolers are permitted, but are subject to search. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL is permitted on the property. This is a 21+ event. Gates open at 6pm, Concert starts at 7pm.

7:00 pm: Antioch Speedway Fall Brawl (Season ending)
Join the Antioch Speedway at the Contra Costa Fairgrounds for a night of racing. Late Models ($1500 to win), B-Mods ($1000 to win) and Hobby Stocks ($850 to win).

Adult 13+ Ticket: $15
Seniors 65+ Ticket: $10
Active Military Ticket: $10
Kids 6-12 Ticket: $10
Kids 5 and Under Ticket: Free
Family Pass (2 Adults, 2 Kids): $40
