Nov. 4: Delta Supporters to Host Forum on BDCP Proposals and Solutions

The public invited to learn more about impacts of massive tunnel project where nine elected leaders, a top economist, and water experts will tell The Real Delta Story on Monday, Nov. 4, at the University of the Pacific in Stockton to address the impacts of the proposed water export tunnels on the region. A little more than a month before the Brown Administration releases its water export plan, the experts will address its impacts on water quality, agriculture, fisheries, farming and the ecosystem of the Delta.

WHO:     The Delta Coalition, leading water and economic experts and state and local elected officials.

Speakers: John Herrick, attorney and water expert; Dr. Jeff Michael, University of the Pacific Economist; Barbara Barrigan-Parilla, Restore the Delta Executive Director; Larry Ruhstaller, San Joaquin County Supervisor (District 2) and Chair of the Delta Protection Commission; Ken Vogel, San Joaquin County Supervisor (District 4) and Chair of the Delta Conservancy; Rogene Reynolds, Farmer in the South Delta

Panel: Stockton City Councilmember Kathy Miller (District 2) will moderate a panel of legislators who represent the heart of the Delta including: State Senator Lois Wolk (District 3); Senator Cathleen Galgiani (District 5); Assembly Member Susan Eggman (District 13); Assembly Member Jim L. Frazier, Jr. (District 11); Assembly Member Kristin M. Olson (District 12); Assembly Member Mariko Yamada (District 14).

What a waste of time. Holding this event in Stockton is like preaching to the choir in a friendly atmosphere. If they want to do real work and hold a real forum, go into the Lion’s den in Southern California and start putting their effort down there.

Thse folks should stop patting themselves on the back and start to do real work in So Cal.
