At 8:00 am Monday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Highway 4 near Loveridge with a motorcyclist down in the roadway.
Upon arrival, it was reported by CONFIRE this was a fatality in the westbound direction.
By 8:08 am, all traffic was at a stop and this was a confirmed fatality.
No further information was available.
Update via CHP: FATAL COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 4:
This morning at approximately 8am, we responded to a collision on SR-4 w/b, near Loveridge Road. Upon arrival, we located a motorcycle rider who had rear ended a Toyota Camry and was ejected off of his motorcycle as a result of that collision.
Unfortunately, following that collision, the rider was struck by a big rig and sustained fatal injuries. Both the driver of the big rig and the Toyota are cooperating with our investigation. Multiple lanes were closed until approximately 10 am, but the roadway is now fully open. Identification of the motorcycle rider will be made through the Contra Costa Coroners Office.

Don’t know what exactly happened with this rider, but lots of those guys seem to have a death wish.
Well this man had NO death wish. He rode very slow and careful on his bike every time.
So we don’t know what happened either, so many unanswered questions.
