Just after 4:00 am Monday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a balcony fire in the 3900 block of Alhambra Ave near K Street in the City of Martinez.
By 4:20 am, the fire was upgraded to a 2nd alarm response and there was at least one burn victim at a 3-story apartment complex with a fire on the third floor.
Update:
By 4:33 am, second alarm response units were cancelled. Martinez Police arrived on scene and began evacuating the building. Firefighters were able to limit the fire to one apartment.
