by ECT

Just before 7:30 am Wednesday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Somersville Road at Delta Fair Blvd in the City of Antioch.

Police responded to the Valero Gas Station where it was reported that a male had been shot in the arm.

According to preliminary information, the shooting occurred in the shopping center across the street. A male had walked up to a vehicle and opened fire into a vehicle where the man had been sleeping. The gunshots struck the male in the arm which prompted him to drive away to the gas station and seek medial attention.

As of 8:00 am, Antioch Police are on scene investigating and no other information was available. Police were investigating if this was related to another incident that occurred in the past and working to see if the suspect and victim knew each other and what the relationship was.

This is the second shooting in 12-hours as Antioch Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night in the area of Canada Valley Road near Pinnacle View Way. Police located a vehicle shot up with casings in the street. Police are not sure if this was related to road rage or just someone shooting at another person.

Hey! I’ve been shot. Will I report that to the police? Uh…no. I will just drive myself to wherever I end up. And let nature take its course. Just one more notch in the Antioch Strong belt
