A juvenile sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital Saturday after recklessly riding a dirt bike before colliding with a Brentwood Police vehicle in the City of Brentwood.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 pm when the Brentwood Police Department received multiple calls of three dirt bike riders riding recklessly in and out of the Streets of Brentwood and in nearby fields.
According to Captain Doug Silva, the Antioch Police Department was handling the investigation but it appears the riders were on and off the Streets of Brentwood property driving at high rates of speed and popping wheelies while messing with shoppers at the Streets. They were riding in the area behind ULTA and Orange Theory.
Silva said an officer was handling another call when they saw the dirt bikers on motorized non-street legal bikes. Officers did not pursue the dirt bikers due to safety issues. A short-time later, an officer was making a U-turn on Shady Willow Drive near the San Creek Trail when one of the dirt bikers came up on the vehicle and slammed into the rear side panel of the patrol car.
The 17-year-old male was treated on scene and a medical helicopter was requested due to major injuries. Silva said Monday the injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.
Antioch Police Department is investigating the incident and Silva did not have any other details on the incident. No arrests or citations have been issued at this time and the identities or ages of the other riders were not released.
Captain Silva pointed out that the Brentwood Police Department has been receiving more complaints about off-road dirt bikes throughout the city over the past few month but did not elaborate further.

This is getting out of control in Brentwood. Hopefully the helicopter ride costs his parents $50k.
