On Tuesday, the California State Assembly voted to tax the people who do not purchase health insurance in a 57-14 vote.
The bill will restore Obamacare with the tax imposed on individuals who do not carry health insurance.
Assemblyman Rudy Salas Jr was the only Democrat to vote against the Senate Bill 78 joining 13 other Republicans who voted against the bill which now will be sent to Governor Gavin Newsom for signature. Newsom propose a similar plan to SB 78 in January.
According to the Bill:
- Places a tax on people who refuse to purchase health insurance
- The penalty is $695
- The bill goes into effect January 1, 2020.
- Exemptions from the penalty include: people in the United States illegally, people in prison or members of an American Indian Tribe
On June 13, the California State Legislator approved a $214.8 billion budget in Assembly Bill 74 which included healthcare for undocumented residents and places approximately $450 million annually for Covered California Premium Subsidies.

This is the pinnacle: Illegal aliens get free healthcare and Americans have to buy their own healthcare in addition the the healthcare for illegals. Fellow Californians, how long are you going to vote for this and ever more BS?
Truly a joke……like Washington DC….when our so called leaders pay for their own insurance, then they can pass judgement on others.
I have not see a greater legion of fools than most of these politicians.
Every registered Democratic voter should be rejoicing right now that you have to pay this fine and you should be overjoyed that illegal immigrants will now receive FREE health care while American citizens and our Veterans suffer. Illegals will now rush California like a fat kid to cake!
