At 1:43 am Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a vegetation fire that quickly engulfed a barn in the 4200 block of Knightsen Avenue in the Town of Knightsen.
Firefighters set up for a defensive fire attack on the barn and limited damages to the barn and contents inside. No injuries were reported.
According to Battalion Chief Jeff Burris, the estimated fire loss was at $100,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
Crews were on scene for 3-hours.
