The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District announced today its agenda for its upcoming workshop this weekend to help bring new board members up to speed. The meeting will begin at 9:30 am at Fire Station 93 at 530 O’Hara Avenue instead of its traditional meeting location of Oakley City Hall where it could have potentially been recorded.

Here is a look at the agenda which should have provided a brief summary on each item:

Workshop

  1. History of the District
  2. Emergency Medical Services and Quick Response Vehicles
  3. Organization Structure
  4. Current Service Model and District Infrastructure
  5. District Finances-Revenue and expenses
  6. Revenue Enhancement Options
  7. Reviewed District Proposed Parcel Tax in June 2012 (Measure S)
  8. Community Outreach and Public Education
  9. Discussion of District Goals and Objectives for upcoming year
  10. Next Steps

As far as a staff report not being included in the Agenda, the District missed a solid opportunity to better educate the public on the history of the District as to where we have been, where we are today, and the direction its potentially headed.

Update:
The Chief informed me this afternoon they will be releasing a meeting packet on Friday.
