East Contra Costa County residents were generous during a two-day Fill The Boot event where more than $25,000 was raised for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Firefighters participated in the two day event by standing on intersections as folks donated money into fire boots. Yesterday at the intersection of Balfour and Fairview, $12,000 was raised. On May 23 at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Empire, $13,474 was raised.
The nearly $26,000 in funds raised shattered last year’s record of $19,300 raised. Here are photographs from yesterdays event:
