Here is a look at some of the local events within East Contra Costa County from Friday April 18 through April 20 which has many options to chose from. We have also included events that are a little further out.


April 18

103 Kat Country is coming to the Brentwood Armory Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm giving away 6-tickets every 10-minutes during their annual annual Listener Appreciation Concert! Simply show up and get a free raffle ticket for a chance to win. The event is located at 305 Town Centre Terrace, Brentwood


Brentwood Movie in the Park

“The Field of Dreams” leads off the 2014 “Movie in the Park” program this Friday, April 18 in City Park.  Bring a picnic dinner and a lawn chair or blanket.  Free parking available in the parking garage at 100 City Park Way (between City Hall and the Community Center). “The Field of Dreams” (PG, 111 minutes) begins at 8:15 p.m. and will be shown rain or shine.


April 19

Discovery Bay Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt
At 10 am Saturday, kids are invited to participate in an East Egg Hunt at the Discovery Bay Community Center on Discovery Bay Bvld. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos and there will be free games for the kids. For more information, contact (925) 516-7234.


Fitness Boot Camp

Brownstone Gardens Bridal Boot Camp
Open to the public, this free event begins workouts on Saturdays from 8:00 to 9:00 am throughout the summer and into the fall. The series will be led by Mary and Brandon Collins, independent Beachbody Coaches. Participants need to bring a Yoga mat, towel, and water bottle.  Brownstone Gardens is located at 91 Brownstone Road in Oakley.


Mike Truitt Memorial Ride

Mike “Bear Cub” Truitt Memorial Ride
The Sacred Sons Motorcycle Club will be meeting at 8:30 am in front of the Antioch Police Department at 300 L Street when registration begins and at 10:00 am they will head to Ironstone Winery in Murphy’s. The event is $25.00 per person which includes lunch at Ironstone.

The proceeds from the event will benefit the Mike Truitt Memorial Scholarship Fund at Los Medanos College. This is a scholarship for students who wish to go into law enforcement to attend the academy at Los Medanos College. For more information on the event contact Steve Aiello (925) 956-8934. Brentwood Farmers Market

Brentwood Farmers Market
The farmers market will run on Saturdays between March 15 through November 22 between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm located at First Street between Oak and Chestnut.


Holy Horseman-Soldiers of the Cross Blessing of the Bikes BOB 2014

This event is benefiting The Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation—also known as Brittle Bone Disease. The event cost $10 for the ride (including lunch). There will also be raffles right after. Participants will meet at the Antioch Wesleyan Church at 2800 Sunset Lane Antioch at 9:00 am with kickstands up 10:00 am. For more information, contact (925) 779-0339.


 

Bethel Island Pancake Breakfast
The Bethel Island Loins Club hosts a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8:00 am to noon at Scout Hall, 3090 Ranch Lane in Bethel Island. Tickets are $6 and includes a raffle. Tickets are sold at the door.


Discovery Bay Yacht Club Opening Day Boat Parade
The 2014 Opening Day Boat Parade will begin at 12:00 pm with the theme “Spring Fling” where boats will be decorated and will travel the waters of Discovery Bay.

San Joaquin Yacht Club Opening Day on the Delta Parade
The 2014 Opening Day on the Delta will begin at Noon and run through 5:00 pm while traveling the Delta. According to the San Joaquin Yacht Club, viewing locations include the Rusty Porthole, Sugar Barge, and the San Joaquin Yacht Club. All boats are welcome. Open House

April 20

The Commons At Dallas Ranch Egg Hunt
The Commons at Dallas Ranch (4751 Dallas Ranch Road in Antioch) will host an Easter egg hunt and celebration from 1:30 to 4:00 pm. The event will include face painting, games, egg decorations and a bounce house. Reference

Mt. Diablo Recycling will be hosting an Earth Day Celebration located at 1300 Loveridge Road in Pittsburg. They have two sessions which you can register for from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon or 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Event includes presentations, tours and activities throughout Mt. This is your opportunity to join with family, friends and other community volunteers to make a difference in your hometown!  Allied Waste has donated dumpsters, which will be located at various schools throughout the city. 3rd Annual Discovery Bay Earth Day Celebration
