East Contra Costa Fire Welcomes New Firefighters

by ECT

This week, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District welcomed five new firefighters who began training on Monday.

According to Chief Hugh Henderson, once training is complete, these firefighters are part of getting the Knigthsen fire station. The station is scheduled to open July 2, 2016 and will be open for a period of 12-months.

Chief Henderson said the hiring was much needed which came from the MOU between the Cities of Brentwood and Oakley as well as Contra Costa County who contributed $2.33 million to the cash strapped district for a period of 16-months.

“It means we can move forward with the Station re-opened as part of the MOU through temporary agreement to work on further funding.  The contract allows us to fund the Knigthsen Station through June 30, 2017.”

The hiring process began in December with firefighters coming from the Sacramento Area, another from Southern California and a resident of Brentwood.

Chief Henderson said this is just a temporary solution while they work on a long-term solution. If people want to learn more about the fire district, can visit www.eccfpd.org

Poor guys. Hope they know what they signed up for.

It’s not the firefighters. It’s the union and special interest that needs to be reformed.

@ Unome,

Another “Drive By” comment with no merit? Frankly I amazed that you haven’t been banned from this website.

So tell us, who makes up the union if not firefighters?

So tell us, who is the ” Special Interests”?

2 simple quesrions. Anyone want to take bets on Unome’s answers. Poor fella, he just can’t help himself from coming across as dimwitted. Lol!

Unome, can you care to explain how the union and special interest of the ECCFPD can be reformed? What special interest are you even referring to?

Unome Apr 21, 2016 - 4:47 pm

You can only explain 2 plus 2 is 4 so many times. If you have not figured it out this last ten years you probably never will. Anon, The firefighters are not the problem, we have great loyal firefighters. Grow up. ECT, don’t play dumb. You are an intelligent person most of the time.

@Unome. Don’t be a douche. You speak in riddles that most adults can’t comprehend. It was a simple question.

Apparently you haven’t figured out that the Union = the fire fighters. They are one in the same. You come across as a loon with this doublespeak stuff.

POCs are gone. Adios. Sorry, but so is the 1970s. Stop trying to relive them over and over and over. It’s a professional fire department now because that’s what the call volume and service needs dictate. If you can’t deal with that, maybe you need to move to the sticks where volunteers as a model still works. That doesn’t work here in the bedroom communities of East County in the 21st century.

So pout with a pity party reply or put your big boy pants on and answer the question. Your call, dude.

And there you have it…just as expected. Unome didn’t answer a single question. Why? Because he can’t. There is a special place for people like him.

As usual he went full retard. Nice going jackass! Way to make yourself look “special”.

Unome got owned!

It’s not an issue of “owned” and dirting them only serves to enbitter them and weaken your point of view. These trolls represent a specific segment of the population within the district. They get their perspectives manipulated by intrest that are counter to their own BUT they are loyal, they are active and they learn. Make no mistake I am with you. I doubt they have the capacity for change. If you want to have a community that thinks enough of itself to provide professional services the best I think you can do is corner them with truth. A strategy of polite containment has a far greater chance to sway the intelligent misinformed masses that are reading but don’t post.
Good luck troll hunting and keep fighting the good fight
