Pelosi, Schumer Joint Statement on Call to Vice President Pence on Invoking 25th Amendment
Washington, D.C. — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) issued the following statement on their attempt to reach the Vice President by phone about invoking the 25th Amendment:
“This morning, we placed a call to Vice President Pence to urge him to invoke the 25th Amendment which would allow the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to remove the President for his incitement of insurrection and the danger he still poses. We have not yet heard back from the Vice President.
“The President’s dangerous and seditious acts necessitate his immediate removal from office. We look forward to hearing from the Vice President as soon as possible and to receiving a positive answer as to whether he and the Cabinet will honor their oath to the Constitution and the American people.”
Feinstein Joins Calls to Remove Trump from Office
Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement supporting efforts to remove President Trump from office:
“In the wake of yesterday’s violence at the Capitol – chaos directly incited by President Trump – we’ve seen numerous calls for his removal by impeachment or the 25th Amendment. I am in full agreement that the president needs to be removed from office as soon as possible.
“Ours is a country of accountability, and President Trump must answer for his dangerous actions. Five people died yesterday, including a Capitol Police officer, and many were injured, all because the President Trump continues to peddle conspiracy theories and outright lies. He must not be allowed to remain in office, causing more harm and endangering more lives.
“I stand behind Leader Schumer, Speaker Pelosi and others in the call to remove President Trump from office. Letting him remain in the White House for even one more day is simply unacceptable.”
Statement of Congressman Mark DeSaulnier on Attack on the U.S. Capitol and 25th Amendment
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) issued the following statement on the recent attack on the U.S. Capitol and calls for President Donald Trump to be removed from office.
“Yesterday, the United States Capitol was invaded by a mob that was quite deliberately incited by the current President of the United States. It is a miracle that there was not greater carnage and loss of life. Donald Trump should not be in office for one moment longer, and should never again be allowed to hold office. He has defiled his sacred oath.
The 25th Amendment should be immediately invoked to remove the President from control. If the Vice President and Cabinet refuse to take action, Donald Trump should be impeached as rapidly as possible. What we have seen from him over the last four years and beyond is a clear disrespect for rule of law and the Constitution except as it suits him. We cannot let this go. History will not forgive him, and if we are silent it will not forgive us.”

The President of the United States incited an attempted coup and a violent attack on our nation’s capital. He must be removed from power immediately. I support impeachment and will take all necessary steps to ensure that America remains a free and democratic nation.
Swalwell Demands Immediate Removal of President Trump
Washington D.C.— Congressman Eric Swalwell, a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and of the House Judiciary Committee released the following statement:
Democracy is under assault. Yesterday, the President and Republican seditionists in Congress incited a violent coup attempt on the U.S. Capitol. Because of brave law enforcement and military officers, the effort to stop the certification of the 2020 presidential election failed. But this terrorist attack has put our experiment in self-governance on life support.
For the guarantee of our Republic’s survival, President Donald J. Trump must be removed from office––either by the 25th Amendment or impeachment and removal in the Congress. President Trump can no longer defend our country or her ideals. Every second he is in power is a risk to everyone’s personal security and our country’s democratic ideals.
Further, there must be an extensive investigation of how the Capitol—a sacred symbol of freedom—was violently breached. Any Members of the House or Senate who incited or aided in the coup attempt should be expelled from their respective bodies.
A new president will be sworn into power in just 13 days. That may seem like it will be here before you know it, until you put into perspective that yesterday the Capitol’s security fortress was penetrated within a matter of minutes. It’s imperative that over the next 300 hours we show ourselves, and the world, that we can deliver a peaceful transfer of power.

A deluded mob of MAGAts and Trumpanzees defiled our democracy, at the instigation, chiefly, of the guy who will be leaving office in a few days. That instigator, with the blood of at least five people on his hands, should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Impeachment and removal (which makes him, very fittingly, ineligible to hold federal office in the future) is the least we need to do to hold him accountable, and deter future wannabe dictators. Thanks to our duly elected officials for putting this forward.

I look at images of DeSaulnier, McNerney and Swallowswell and I see The Three Stooges! Wouldn’t you know it, old lady Feinstein has joined the other living corpse (Pelosi) in going after President Trump.
In all this melee, someone stole Pelosi’s laptop. I didn’t know she could even knew how to use one. Two years ago, she was the featured speaker at our WOMEN IN FILMS symposium at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. Poor lady tired to speak, but her dentures kept falling out! I have been approached by many saying, “It’s over…” and “Trump conceded the election…”. Nothing of the sort has taken place. Go back and listen to the videos all the way through. At no point does Trump even mention Biden’s name. At no point does he say he concedes. He does say that there will be a peaceful transition to a new administration and he does say that this is only the beginning. Those phrases are important to note. Indeed, we will have a new administration made up of a new vice president and cabinet as the current ones have all made their treason complete.

JAY CLEMONS, I have no problem with the “government by the people” approach but only if those people were well-educated and knew and understood the issues. Most do not! Most have no idea what’s going on and others just get their information from the news media or some radio talk show jockey…. and our media is NOT objective. News must be objective! Just report things as they are and don’t editorialize! I’ve made it a point to bring up political discussion with myriad people and I was appalled how little information they had about the candidates and the issues. It blew my mind! Once they are given two or more sides to a story, they stand there dumbfounded saying “I didn’t know that!” I’ve lived in other countries where political discussions among people are a daily occurrence (over a glass of wine or beer) and people actually listen to all sides. Why isn’t this be done here? Why if you explain something to someone who might not be of the same political persuasion, they all get bent-out-of-shape? Get emotional and even hysterical. I’ve read some of what is posted on some of the NEXDOOR sites and I simply cannot believe what these people are posting. Total disinformation. Provable disinformation. Trump did not incite anyone to riot. Watch the video, read the transcript. He told the protestors to go to Capitol Hill and PEACEFULLY protest to let Congress know how they feel. Nothing about storming the Capitol or rioting. Nancy Pelosi is using this as a reason to pursue something that she has been pursuing for the last 4 yrs. and that is to remove Trump. Pelosi, by her own admission, held up the stimulus bill for months and reduced the amount people would get solely to satisfy her petty political agenda and not have Trump get the credit for the stimulus relief. Now she is making a last ditch effort to accomplish her goal in the waning days of the administration. If anybody should be removed from office, it is Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler, Schiff, Swallwell and other Democrats for supporting an encouraging the riots over the summer where BLM and Antifa rioted, burned, looted, destroyed property and assaulted people and police. For withholding stimulus relief money from the American people strictly for her own personal reasons. Congress, Pelosi and Schumer and the democrats in particular, have now experienced the fear of the mob that many Americans faced daily for months on end due to their actions on the one hand and inactions on the other. I think we can assume, that these folks in Congress who live in their protected bubble did not like facing the mob as they have had many Americans do.
Trump has just been impeached for the second time, with no investigation, no court trial, no defending yourself, or anything, called a “Snap Impeachment”. Dems now have introduced something that if you don’t agree with them, “snap” action will take place. You have no right to speak up and defend yourself. Your head will roll off, pronto! This is not the America I recognize at all.
They voted this way before Trump has a chance to bring them all down. 80+% of Congress is corrupt. Trump has the evidence, but the corrupt courts won’t give him a chance to try it in court. It has to go the military route. How quick can they move? I see no action. I so hope I am wrong.
