Danville Karate Studio Owner Arrested After Allegation of Sexual Misconduct

The Danville Police Department said Monday that a Danville business owner was arrested  following an investigation by police into alleged sexual misconduct.

A Danville business owner is under arrest following an investigation by police into alleged sexual misconduct.  Police Chief Allan Shields said that at approximately 12:50 pm, on February 21, 2020, officers arrested Ramon Pruitt, 63, San Geronimo, after locating him in Oakland.   Pruitt is the owner of Danville Karate International located at 105 Town and Country Drive.

Danville Police, assisted by detectives from the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff, began investigating Pruitt on January 14, 2020, after receiving a report of alleged inappropriate sexual behavior with one of his students at the karate studio.

On February 20, 2020, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office filed three felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child on Pruitt and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  Pruitt was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility with bail set at $500,000.
