Contra Costa Supervisors Gioia, Mitchoff to Run Unopposed in June

John Gioia Reelection

Friday was a great day for county elected positions as all but one will face no opposition in the coming June election as the filing deadline has now closed.

Supervisors John Gioia and Supervisor Karen Mitchoff will run unopposed.

Also running without opponents are District Attorney Mark Peterson, Sheriff-Coroner David Livingston, Assessor Gus Kramer, Clerk Recorder Joe Canciamilla and Treasure Russell Watts.

The only position up for grabs with a challenger is the Auditor-Controller Robert Campbell who is being challenged by Oakley Resident Avore Riaunda.

The 11th Congressional District and Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools will remain open for filing until close of business on Wed. March 12 as the incumbents have not filed for re-election.

it too bad most people don’t pay attention to our elected officials to even give a educated vote..

Ayore Riaunda Mar 9, 2014 - 12:48 pm

We hope that will change with the June 3 election of Ayore Riaunda who is empowering voters with a choice of the best qualified candidate to serve them as County Auditor-Controller. Ayore Riaunda is not a politician but a US military veteran who has served our country to defend our freedom and democracy for 18 years and is restoring democracy in this election process. A Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) with MBA, Ayore Riaunda has worked for Contra Costa residents for 17 years and needs all our votes to continue serving us as Auditor-Controller. Riaunda will bring more transparency and better working conditions to County government and ensure more fiscal supervision and audits of all County agencies to reduce waste of tax payers’ dollars while increasing much needed services to County residents.
