Contra Costa County Elections Website Back Up After Crashing

by ECT

As of 12:55 pm Tuesday, the Contra Costa County Elections announced their website was “live” again after crashing shortly after polls opened.

With the website down, voters in Contra Costa County had a difficult time accessing information such as voter information, polling sites. The crash effected other counties across the country as well.

If the problem continued into the evening, Contra Costa County would not be able to post election results online. As a contingency plan, PDFs of the results would be posted on the county’s main website.

That has now been avoided.

Here is the information that was posted earlier today on the County Website:

Our  Elections office website has been experiencing intermittent technical issues today.  We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you are able to get online soon.

In the meantime, you can get help by calling the Elections office directly at 925-335-7800.

If you’re looking for your polling place, you can visit the Voting Information Project website.

County Elections staff members are working with the vendor that maintains the Elections website to resolve the problems as quickly as possible.

Get the latest information from the Elections office by following us on Twitter and on Facebook.

Our results will be online and on Contra Costa Television starting at 9:00 p.m. this evening.  You can watch Contra Costa TV on Comcast Channel 27, Astound Channel 32 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
