Concord Police Chief Issues Message to Community

by ECT

The following message was released by City of Concord Police Chief Mark Bustillos Sunday afternoon.

A message from Chief Mark Bustillos to the community:

This week we have watched the pain and outrage from communities across our country. The Minneapolis Police Department officers’ use of force that killed George Floyd has reopened wounds that can only be healed by all of us being honest and working together toward resolution. I understand how this incident can undermine the trust our communities have for law enforcement.

On behalf of the Concord Police Department, I would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Floyd family during this difficult time. The actions and inaction of the involved Minneapolis officers is inexcusable and deeply disturbing; and they are not consistent with the core values of law enforcement.

As your Chief of Police, I want to reassure you that Concord PD’s continuing mission is to provide the highest quality of public safety to all of the communities we are privileged to serve. We value all human life regardless of race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. In the days and weeks ahead of us, we will continue to work tirelessly to enhance community partnerships by strengthening trust, maintaining clear policies, ensuring consistent training, and continuing open and honest dialogue with our community.

Mark Bustillos
Chief of Police

Pain and outrage MY ASS! These people are using a tragedy as an EXCUSE to loot!

Hey Chief Bustillos! An autopsy performed on George Floyd showed that he did not die of asphyxiation! So, knock it off with the “use of force, killed George Floyd” crap! None of those so-called protesters give a rat’s ass about Mr. Floyd. All they are doing is using his tragic death as an excuse to steal and loot.

Roxanne, your reliance on evidence and logic are as dry as your love life. Floyd was obviously killed by a white supremecists’ knee on his neck. Any argument to the contrary just demonstrates how infantile and dependent you are on state-endorsed information. I hope those news bites are small enough for you to chew on. Wake up to your privileged hypocrisy already.

C’mon, Mr. Conservative. Let’s see you get out there and do your thing. Blood in the streets, right? Bring ’em on, right? Go cower in your little corner

You need to be told that? It will or won’t happen regardless of what he says. At least they have publicly distanced themselves from the actions of Minnesota PD. It is a thoughtful letter to the public.

Typical liberal? Welcome to the bay. If it isn’t your cup of tea, go somewhere else.

Sure didn’t open any wounds in me! What’s this guy talking about? Word is out that it’s Obama and Soros who are behind all this.

Joseph Garcia May 31, 2020 - 10:22 pm

@Ray there wouldn’t be rioting if cops didn’t kill so many unarmed citizens.

We don’t know why Chauvin kept squashing George Loyd. We will find out if Chauvin is a white supremicist. He’s been accused of abuse before. We could look to see who he tends to abuse. We will find out if he knew G. Loyd.Idon’t think anyone didn’t think that George Lloyd’s death wasn’t wrongful. There might be some. There are always contrary people. We have tin foil hat people too. It’s just that most people have stopped talking to each other. So, people don’t go to work and talk to their coworkers. They don’t talk about it to people in a bar or restaurant. They get on their phones and pass memes around to their friends and family.

Thank you. This message makes me proud to live in Concord. Wish the inbreds commenting above would move back to Charlottesville.

Excellent statement from our police chief. Please let your officers know they have a lot of support here regardless of the haters that post here and elsewhere. There are looters, thieves, scumbags of every race; white, black, Latino, Asian, et al and the main thing thwarting them are the men and women who put their health and lives on the line to serve and protect citizens. There is only one race, the human race, and anyone who thinks differently is part of the problem, not the solution.
