Just how many crashes does Kirker Pass have in a month? The speed on that road is way too high and people don’t know how to drive properly. It’s a dangerous road best avoided . . .and then there are the trucks!

The trucks are the least of our worries on Kirker Pass.

Last week I was driving towards the Pavillion from Clayton and a little Honda swerved in front of me and went flying up the hill at at least 75 or 80 mph, when I got over the crest and coming down the other side, there he was with a motorcycle cop getting a big ticket. I have noticed increased police activity on both sides for the last 6 weeks, they need to keep it going, no shortage of people willing to donate to PD coffers.

Mark ……… about time the police monitored that area. I try to avoid that road, but sometimes one has to use it. I’ve seen some close calls.

Wasn’t there a situation where some guy went off the road into a bushy area and no one saw him or his car for days and then they found him trapped in his car and dead.

Every year when its wet we get these same accidents, going up the hill from Concord just past Hess road the road turns to the left and is banked incorrectly towards the outside of the road, pushing cars off the road and down the hill embankment. Its a bad design for the road by the engineers, you have to take it easy there at the corner and be alert to losing traction, and be a good driver to correct when you start to slide off the road.
