At 2:00 pm Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Vasco Road near Camino Diablo in Byron.
Engine 59 arrived on scene with a motorcyclist down on the side of the road. The scene was secured and with CHP assisting, the roadway was blocked as crews tended to the motorcyclist.
According to Battalion Chief Craig Auzenne, the 50-year-old female rider sustained trauma to the ride side of her body. A medical helicopter was requested and she was airlifted to a local hospital.
The crash is currently being investigated by CHP.
