Candidates for City Government Begin to Pull Papers for Fall Election

Candidates have began to emerge for a variety of races this fall across East Contra Costa County. Here is a look at who has pulled papers to date.

Antioch Mayor (1 seat)

  • Wade Harper – Pulled nomination papers
  • Gilbert Murrilo – filed 501 candidate intention statement, not yet pulled papers
  • Lori Ogorchock – pulled nomination papers
  • Sean Wright – Filed papers

Antioch City Council (2 seats)

  • Karl Dietzel – pulled nomination papers
  • Ken Turnage II – Filed a Form 501 Candidate Intention Statement on 6/14/16, but has not taken out nomination papers yet
  • Mary Rocha – pulled nomination papers
  • Fred Rouse – pulled nomination papers
  • Monica Wilson – Filed a Form 501 Candidate Intention Statement on 8/2/15, but has not taken out nomination papers yet
  • Lamar Thorpe – pulled nomination papers

Brentwood Mayor (1 seat)

  • Bob Taylor

Brentwood City Council (2 seats)

  • Claudette Staton – pulled nomination papers

Discovery Bay Community Services District

Oakley City Council (3 seats)

The Nomination Period for this election runs through August 12, 2016. If an incumbent whose term is expiring should not file by 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2016, the nomination period will be extended until 6:00 p.m. on August 17, 2016 for non-incumbents only.
