At 12:49 am Thursday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle accident at Byron Highway and N. Bruns Road in Byron.
Upon arrival, crews located a vehicle into a drainage ditch off the side of the road with two patients. One patient was suffering moderate injuries and another had minor injuries.
One patient was flown by air ambulance to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and another was transported by ground.
The accident is currently being investigated by the California Highway Patrol. Fire crews were on scene for nearly 2-hours 30-minutes.
Update – per Contra Costa Fire, the patient was confirmed to be a juvenile.
