Byron Boys Ranch Escapee

Via Amanda Dove at the Delta Sun Times,  the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Department is reporting that a juvenile male has escaped the Byron Boys Ranch faculty on Byer Road.  The escapee is 17 years old, Hispanic, brown hair and eyes, six feet tall, 165 lbs., wearing an orange jumpsuit and blue sweatshirt.  Be advised to keep your doors locked and exterior lights on.  If you see this person, do not approach.  Contact the Contra Costa County Sheriff at 925-646-2411.

Here is a bit more information from the Contra Costa Times

Deputy sheriffs, along with a police K-9 unit and air-support from the California Highway Patrol, searched the area around Byron Highway near Byer and Bixler Roads for a subject who has been described as a Hispanic male, 17 years old, 6 feet tall and 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit and a blue sweat shirt.

The ward allegedly walked away from the detention facility, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jimmy Lee. After over an hour of searching, the 17-year-old was not found.

The warning was sent out at 9:32 p.m. The teen’s name has not been released by police.

If you recall, in September of 2011, four boys also escaped.
