Just a reminder that Congressman Jerry McNerney will be hosting an open house of his 2,100-square-foot field office at the Antioch Community Center.  McNerney will employ two full-time staffers in Antioch, while his district director will split time between the Antioch and Stockton offices.  Several interns are expected to join the office in the next few weeks. Tomorrows Open House will be between 5-7 pm.

Last week, McNerney took tours of both Antioch and Oakley (see pictures below) with Mayors Wade Harper and Kevin Romick.

When I met with Congressmen McNerney during his tours of Antioch and Oakley, he had nothing but positives to say about East County and the potential of both Downtown Antioch and Downtown Oakley. Paul Burgarino of the Costa Times captured similar quotes in yesterdays article where he quoted McNerney stating the following:

“I wanted to get to spend a little bit of time in the communities and get to know the council members and mayors — give them a chance to size me up,” McNerney said. “To see everyone’s energy and enthusiasm is encouraging.”

McNerney said he “couldn’t help be enthusiastic” about the energy and aims of local leaders, particularly Oakley’s toward its new La Costa and Carpaccio restaurants.
