Contra Costa County, CA – Get ready for a fun and healthy way to get to work with Bike to Work Day. The Board of Supervisors has proclaimed May 9th, 2019 “Bike to Work Day” in Contra Costa County. The goal of the annual Bike to Work Day is to encourage those who do not usually commute to work by bicycle to try it!

Contra Costa County joins eight other Bay Area counties to encourage commuters to try bicycling to work on May 9th or any other day that week as part of California Bike Commute Week and National Bike Month.

Board Chair, Supervisor John Gioia said, “Contra Costa is proud to promote Bike to Work Day. Biking to work is healthy for our air and our bodies. Once people try it out, they realize that it could work for them, and they do it more regularly. Plus, it’s fun!”

Cyclists can stop for refreshments and promotional materials at over 200 energizer stations throughout the Bay Area. Over 50 energizer stations will be located in Contra Costa County to keep you going. There will be other incentives for bike commuters, including a raffle for prizes.
