Just after 11:00 pm Sunday, two men entered Kams Market in Bay Point and one suspect pistol-whipped the clerk who in turn shot one of the suspects and killed him.
The two suspects ran out of the store where one suspect dropped dead on Lynbrook and was pronounced dead by paramedics on scene.
The Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office is on scene investigating and have not yet released any information on the incident, however, video was provided to TV media – which can be viewed on Thom Jensen’s Twitter Feed.

Homicide Investigation in Bay Point
On Sunday, December 22, 2019, at about 11:04 PM, Muir Station Deputy Sheriffs were dispatched to a market on the 200 block of Port Chicago Highway in Bay Point for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and shooting.Deputies found a clerk inside the store suffering from a head injury. A man was located on the ground near the store at the intersection of Lynbrook Street and Desanie Way. The man suffered from a gunshot wound and was later pronounced deceased at the scene. He is not being identified pending next of kin notification.
Forensic Services Division Crime Lab and Homicide Detectives responded to the scene. Detectives say the man struck the clerk in the head with a gun during a robbery at the market. During the attack, the clerk shot the man. The clerk was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
A second unknown suspect may also be involved.

The man who was shot and later pronounced deceased following a Bay Point robbery on Sunday is identified as 31-year-old Michael Andrew of Merced.

I wish people would take out porch pirates the same way. Wait for your packages to be delivered, watch for the scumbags violating your property and then send them on to their reward! Word gets around fast!
People who work at such establishments should have their firearms on their bodies where they can get to them quickly. If you see someone enter such a store, obscuring their face, you know what they are there for. If both the clerk and the co-worker had firearms on them, they could have taken out both of these vermin in one fell swoop! This would have saved the authorities for having to search for the second robber. Always plan ahead. Plan for the best, but be ready for the worst!
Even considering his time serving his country, this is probably the most impactful deed that clerk has ever performed, the greatest community service possible. He defended himself and his fellow citizens. So sorry he didn’t manage to take out the other robber.

THIS IS WHY I SUPPORT THE NRA!!! Law-abiding people often need to defend themselves before the PD is able to arrive. I shop here frequently and love knowing that the owner and clerks are real men, unafraid to kill the bottom- feeder who made it necessary. Another useless, subhuman MF goes to hell. Yay! Unfortunately, the PD won’t be able to kill the accomplice when he’s found. They can only get him off the street.

Well thank goodness gracious they edited out the strong language and the gunshot! Seeing the robber bash the clerk over the head with a bloody pistol wasn’t upsetting but if I’d heard foul language or seen the clerk defend himself by taking the shot I probably would have fainted face down on the keyboard like a delicate little prissy miss.
So far it looks like a happy end story. But I am afraid the clerk will be charged and sentenced for killing the thug. Justice is reversed in CA.

Nothing will happen to the clerk. He didn’t do anything wrong. He protected himself and fortunately he survived. End of story period.
