At about 11:30 AM today, the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff received a report from the Contra Costa Water District that a body may be in the Contra Costa Canal in Bay Point.
Deputies responded finding a body submerged in the canal. The Marine Services Unit Dive Team arrived at the scene. Two divers entered the canal to recover the body according to Jimmy Lee, spokesperson for the sheriffs office.
The body is that of a unknown man. The Coroner’s Division will take custody of the body to determine the identification and cause of death.
