At roughly 6:30 pm, the Orinda BART Station had a fire break out under one of the trains on the third rail. Due to the fire, the station was evacuated and service has been delayed to the Pittsburg/Bay Point Station. At this time, there is no estimate of when service will be restored.
Around 6:39 pm, firefighters reported they got water on the fire.
Around 6:44 pm, firefighters reported they had the fire contained.
Update: Service has now resumed to Pittsburg/Bay Point BART Station
