Assemblyman Frazier Encourages Support of California Pink Plate

Frazier Profile

Assemblyman Jim Frazier (D-Oakley) put out the following letter yesterday encouraging folks to sign up for the California Pink Plate. Here is his letter we wanted to pass on as they are looking to increase their signatures from 5,969 this morning to 7,500 before the plates will go into production.

Dear Neighbors,

So many of us have seen firsthand the devastating and far-reaching effect breast cancer has had on families across California. We can and must do more to help. That is why I am co-authoring Assembly Bill (AB) 49 to create a Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Specialized License Plate. Revenue from the specialized plate will fund breast cancer awareness programs and breast cancer screenings for low-income women across California.

For the Pink Plate to become a reality, we have to accomplish two goals:

1. AB 49 must pass the Legislature and be signed by the Governor in order to authorize the Pink Plate design.

2. Once AB 49 passes we will submit 7,500 prepaid applications to the DMV to start producing the new Pink Plate.

In order for AB 49 to pass we need to demonstrate to my fellow legislators and the Governor that we have enough grassroots support to easily reach the 7,500 prepaid applications. Right now we just need everyone who supports the idea of creating a Pink Plate to register their support.

Visit www.pinkplate.org to learn more and register your support. Help us spread the word by forwarding this message to your friends and colleagues.

Sincerely,
Jim Frazier
