Antioch Teen Arrested After Police Chase from Danville to Orinda

A 16 year old Antioch resident is facing charges, following a police pursuit Saturday evening which began in Danville and ended in Orinda.

According to Lieutenant Allan Shields, the incident began at approximately 8:30 p.m. on September 26, 2015, when Danville Police Officer Emily Neabeack attempted to stop a truck and trailer driving on Camino Tassajara at Old Blackhawk Rd. after a check of the vehicle showed it as stolen

The driver fled, and a pursuit began. Other officers, including the Danville Police K-9 unit, joined in the pursuit. The pursuit ended on Moraga Way in Orinda, when the driver and two passengers abandoned the vehicle and fled.

Officer Tyler Nelson and K9 Rony apprehended the driver, during which time the suspect received minor injuries. The two passengers were apprehended without incident. The driver was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was treated for his injuries and then released into police custody.

The driver, a 16 year old male, Antioch, was charged with unlawful taking of a vehicle, reckless evading of a police officer and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Contra Costa Juvenile Hall. The two passengers, also teenagers, were released into the custody of their parents.
