Contra Costa County Coronavirus Cases at 417 Cases, 7 Deaths

On Monday, Contra Costa Health Services announced there are now 417 cases of coronavirus resulting in 7 Deaths. The County is now including the city list with number of cases.

The county says they have provided 5,598 tests and 30 people are currently in the hospital.

On Friday, Health Officer Dr. Chris Farnitano announced that the County is issuing a mass order for residents with COVID-19 and their close contacts to isolate and quarantine themselves.

“We’ve reached a critical point in the COVID-19 crisis here in Contra Costa,” Dr. Farnitano said. “Our resources are stretched extremely thin and business as usual is not an option. We believe this mass order is a creative and effective way of getting the job done to keep the sick isolated from others.”

Residents must isolate themselves in their home or another residence if they test positive for COVID-19. They may not leave their home except to receive necessary medical care or during an emergency that requires evacuation.

During his press conference Monday, Governor Gavin Newsom said California has had 14,336 COVID-19 cases, 343 deaths, 1,085 patients in ICU and 2,509 patients hospitalized.
