Here is a look at local Memorial Day Observance Ceremonies in East Contra Costa County:
Antioch:
Beginning at 9:00 am from City Hall to Oakview Memorial Park, the Antioch VFW, American Legion and City Officials will celebrate Memorial Day with a motorcycle ride.
The event will be held at Oakview Memorial Park which will include a gun salute, dove release, patriotic music and honors for veterans. The event will begin at 10:00 am at 2500 E. 18th Street in Antioch.
Bay Point: 8th Annual Memorial Day Tribute
Benicia Military Cemetery, 735 Buchanan St., Benicia beginning at 9:00 am
Brentwood/Byron
The Veterans of Brentwood-Byron will host a ceremony beginning at 10:00 am at Union Cemetery located at 11545 Brentwood Blvd in Byron. The event is being hosted by the VFW Post 10789 will feature music, speeches and the firing of Civil War-era cannons.
Pittsburg
This years event will begin at 10:00 am at Pittsburg Veterans Memorial on Harbor Street. This event is being put on by the Disabled American Veterans Council, Chapter 154 and American Legion Post 151 as well as the VFW Post 1858.
