unday Morning: Antioch
The community is invited to go to downtown Antioch at the Antioch Marina for a Veterans Day Ceremony followed by a parade.
Here is the schedule of events:
- 8:00 am – Pancake Breakfast
- 9:30 am – Ceremonies & Battle of Local High School Bands at Marina
- 11:00 am: Parade from Veterans Memorial down 2nd Street.
- 12:00 pm: VFW Luncheon – Free for Veterans, $5 for guest
- 2:00 pm: Battle of the Big Bands at El Campanil – $49.
10:30 am: Brentwood
Join Brentwood for their annual Veterans Day Observance Ceremony at Brentwood Veterans Park The event is sponsored by the Delta Diablo Marine Corps League Det. 1155, VFW Post 10789 and the American Legion Post 202. Located at 3841 Balfour Road, Brentwood CA
11:00 am: Oakley
The City of Oakley will hold its 7th Annual Veterans Day Observance Ceremony on Sunday, November 11th at Civic Center Park (3231 Main St) beginning at 11:00 am.
This years program will include the Presentation of Colors, student essays, rifle salute and taps. This years program will also include the Freedom High School Marching band.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Army Command Sergeant Major Randy Wingate. CSM Wingate entered Army service at Ft. Benning Georgia in 1990. In the year 200, CSM Wingate attended Special Forces selection and assessment where he was selected to attend the Special Forces Qualification Course, which he graduated in 2002, earning his Green Beret. CSM Wingate has been deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.
CSM Wingate has been awarded the Bronze Star, Army Commendation with “V” device, Combat Infantry Badge, US Parachutist Badge, Japanese Parachutist Badge, Thai Parachutist Badge, and several other Army awards. CSM Wingate recently graduated the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Advisor Course.
Veteran’s Day is a federal holiday honoring all armed services veterans. This day also commemorates the 1918 signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I between Germany and the Allied nations.
1:00 pm: Hannah Nicole Vineyards Hosts Veterans Day Event
Bring a picnic and join us for the day in honoring our veterans. VFW Post 10789 and it’s Auxilary will be here to share what benefits veterans are entitled to.
Live music by fellow veteran Jeff Ricketts 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

1:00 pm: Veterans Day Party in Antioch
Veterans and their families are invited to join us in honoring and celebrating with our Veterans of East County Veterans Peer to Peer Center! FOOD – Veteran owned Archies S& Q smoked and bbq meats- MUSIC DJ Christina Amato – FUN – all of you with all of us!

2:00 pm: Battle of the Big Bands at El Campanil Theatre

lease join us for a musical tribute to the 1940s Big Bands. Experience an incredible afternoon of live 1940s music. Battle of the Big Bands features 2 Big Bands with 30 Musicians. Each group will perform the music of a legendary band. This year it is Harry James and Glenn Miller.
Experience live music non stop for 2 hours plus a 15 minute intermission. The audience will vote at the end of the evening for their favorite Big Band. This will allow us to return in the future with a new Show featuring the audience selection plus a different Big Band from the 1940s.
