Martinez: Stolen Vehicle Rams Police Car, Deputy Fires Weapon

At around 9:36 pm Saturday, Contra Costa County Fire responded to a report of a vehicle crash at Northbound I-680 at Pacheco Blvd in Martinez.

According to CONFIRE, the crash was a result of a police pursuit that ended up going the wrong way up the freeway.

Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Twitter feed reported a stolen vehicle rammed police vehicle while a deputy fired rounds–although no one was hit by the gunfire.

More details are going to be released Sunday per the sheriffs spokesperson.
