At about 1:36 this afternoon, a Deputy Sheriff discovered a male inmate unresponsive in his cell. CPR was started by Deputies and responding jail medical staff. The fire department and an ambulance arrived and continued with life saving measures.
The inmate was later declared deceased. He is not being identified at this time pending notification of next of kin.
This in-custody death is jointly being investigated by the Office of the Sheriff and the DA’s Office per the county fatal incident protocol.
