Board of Supervisors Receive Light of Hope Award

by ECT

The “Light of Hope Award for Public Service” was awarded to the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors for their dedication and support for abused and neglected children in the County.

CASA thanked the Board of Supervisors for providing more than 20 years of support.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program recruits, trains, and supports volunteer advocates as a powerful voice for the best interest of abused and neglected children during the court process, in order to help every child ultimately thrive in a stable and permanent home.

Too much patting each other on the back. Let’s get something positive done in east county. Roads are falling apart, trash everywhere, fire district on life support, crime up, and we pat ourselves on the back. Let’s see real quality of life improvements. East county is getting to be a ghetto.

I’m confused. It’s the Board receiving the award… not a program, or employees or volunteer groups? While I’m sure they care, but I live in unincorporated CCC, and it’s a disgusting place to be and unsafe for children. No parks, poor roads, limited sidewalks (near schools), blight, undeserved homeless population, etc etc. And the air even frigging stinks.
I know for a fact that Glover has been contacted about many of these things, and doesn’t respond since he only cares about a third of his district . So where the heck is the ray of light for the rest of us?
