The Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office announced the felony vandalism arrest of Chelsy Ginochio, 35 of Antioch, Monday morning.

According to Jimmy Lee, sheriffs spokesperson, at about 5:30 AM this morning, inmate Ginochio was released from the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF) at 1000 Ward Street in Martinez.

As soon as she was released, she went into the MDF main parking lot and began to vandalize multiple vehicles. A deputy sheriff coming to work heard the smashing of windows and notified the MDF sergeant.

Deputies responded to the parking lot and were able to detain Ginochio, who was resisting the deputies. One deputy injured his right knee during the apprehension. Five vehicles were discovered to have been vandalized. The vandalism included smashed front and rear windows, scratched glass, and broken windshield wipers.

Ginochio was originally brought in by the Antioch Police Department for misdemeanor vandalism. She was apparently throwing rocks at cars and a hospital door, while stating that she wanted to go to jail.

Ginochio, 35 of Antioch, is currently at MDF on vandalism and probation violation charges. Her bail is set at $20,000.
