Walnut Creek: Ygnacio Road Closed Due to Downed Tree and Power Poles

The Walnut Creek Police Department has advised commuters that all lanes of Ygnacio Valley Road are closed in both directions between Walnut Blvd and N Civic Drive.

According to police, there is a large tree and several power poles / lines down. PG&E and City crews will be working on this well into morning commute and possibly evening commute. PG&E estimates 12-15 hours until they can reopen any lanes.

According to PG&E, at least 535 people are without power.

Police urge drivers to use alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.
