Walnut Creek Police Officer Injured in Felony Hit and Run

At 10:16 pm Saturday, a Walnut Creek Police Department officer was struck by another vehicle which had just been involved in a felony hit and run injuring an officer.

Police said the incident occurred at Parkside Drive and Hillside Ave.

According to radio traffic, the officer was conscious and breathing after AMR and Contra Costa County Fire was dispatched to the scene. Shortly after, the suspect was located.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody and transported to the hospital with injuries. The Walnut Creek Police officer was also transported to the hospital with injuries.

No further information was released as the investigation is ongoing.
